GOALS

  • Permanent Authority for Reservists to Qualify for Home Loan Guarantees through the VA.
  • Extension of the Reserve Dental Program to actively participating members of the Ready Reserve.
  • Portal-to-Portal coverage to include the evening prior to commencement of drill.
  • Medical coverage for Reservists and their families.
  • Disability retirement of Reservists with more than 15 but less than 20 years of service.
  • Restoration of the tax deductibility of nonreimbursable expenses associated with Reserve Training.
  • Tax credits for employers of Reservists absent from their jobs due to Reserve training or mobilization.
  • College loan repayment delays for mobilized Reservists.
  • Small business loans for self-employed Reservists following periods of mobilization.
  • Full-time commissary access and privileges.
  • Increased access to space available travel for Reservists and their family members.
  • Equitable leave policy for Reservists.
  • Basic Allowance for Housing for all Reservists who have mortgage or rental obligations whenever they are performing any type of active duty.
  • Montgomery GI Bill benefits for as long as Reservists remain members in good standing of the Selected Reserve, and for 5 years after separation from SELRES.
  • Concurrent receipt of VA disability and military retirement pay.
  • Elimination of Tricare Standard deductible for Reservists called to active duty for more than 30 but less than 180 days.
  • Military health care reform.
  • Expansion of mail order pharmacy benefits to cover all uniformed services beneficiaries, regardless of age, status or location.
